THE ARTISTS.
Biancoshock and Elfo are two Italian artists who periodically work together from 2011 through performance and urban actions. In their own artistic activities are evident some common features: the interaction with the urban context, the message within an artwork and the action seen as a vehicle of communication.
Biancoshock (1982). For a very long time he didn’t consider himself as an artist, until, one day he decided to understand the purpose and the nature of his work.
Soon becomes clear that there is no existing "category" that can fit his urban inclination, typical of the Urban Art, and his expressive process which is very close to the activist and performative art; this is the reason why he decides to give birth to EPHEMERALISM.
Ephemeralism has the purpose of producing works of art that have to exist briefly in space but limitlessly in time through the photography, the video and the media.
He has realized more that 900 interventions in the streets of Italy, Albania, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, England, Hungary, Lithuania, Malesia, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovak, Slovenia and Spain and he is not thinking about stopping.
Elfo (1979). His artistic practice starts with graffiti writing and his contemporary work is difficult to categorize in a single genre because his research is original, free and constantly changing. Through an authentic and genuine engagement between street, land art and conceptual art, his creative act is always contextualised, both in urban landscapes or in artificial or in natural environment.
His inspiration is unexpected and impulsive, and his final works range from performance to photographic documentation or installation.
His many languages and his different interventions have in common analyze the meaning and the charm of the ephemeral act.
All the recent work of Elfo has this dual nature, on one side the strong imprint of street art always ironic, hilarious and irreverent, on the other side a more contemporary and spontaneous view oriented to web contamination and viral art.
